Introduction
Velký Šariš is situated in the southeastern part of Spišsko-Saris mountain. The city covers an essential part of the lowermost part of the territory in the valley Torysy.
History
The first written record of the Velký Šariš dates from 1217. Velký Šariš and Prešov, however proved to have existed even before the first written report on the municipal level. The formation of Presov settlement was an important determinant of the intersection of trade routes connecting the Balkans with the Polish Baltic region. The city flourished as a typical below the castle. Today the town consists of two parts, where the old town is situated in the west and new city in the eastern part.

Veľký Šariš is located in a distinctive region of Saris far from the town of Presov. The climate in this area is characterized by slightly hot and warm character.
